Ramesh Karkee is a Barrister & Solicitor currently practicing in Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Karkee was Called to Bar (under Nepal Bar Council) as an Advocate/Lawyer in 2000. Mr. Karkee obtained a “Paralegal Licence” under the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2013. Mr. Karkee was Called to the Ontario Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor in 2019.

Education

In Nepal, Mr. Karkee completed the Bachelors’ Degree in Law (LLB) in 1999 and Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M., specialized in Commercial Law) in 2002 from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

In Canada, Mr. Karkee obtained a Professional Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M., specialized in Business Law) from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto in 2013. Mr. Karkee completed the Internationally Trained Lawyer’s Program (ITLP) from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto in 2014 and Certification of Qualification from the National Committee of Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in 2015.

Experience

In Nepal, Mr. Karkee joined as an ‘Associate Lawyer’ with Prof. Purna Man Shayka at Reliance Law Firm in 2002. He acquired extensive court advocacy skills and experience until 2009. During his 7 years law practice, he represented thousands of individual clients, corporate and institutional clients, e.g., Rastriya Banijya Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Nepal Airlines etc. In addition, Mr. Karkee taught ‘Business Law’ as a ‘Part-time Faculty’ under Tribhuvan University, Nepal from 2003 to 2009.

In Canada, Mr. Karkee joined as an ‘International Trained Lawyer’ & ‘Licenced Paralegal’ with Mr. Paul Anthony Dineen, Barrister & Solicitor, at Chapnick & Associates, Toronto in 2014. Mr. Karkee assisted Mr. Dineen in the areas of Immigration Law (Refugee Claim Cases), Real Estate Law and Business & Corporate Law until 2018.

Since January 2019, Mr. Karkee has been providing the legal services under the name of “Karkee Law Firm Professional Corporation”.
